New challenge to Pa'ina allowed

Last August, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued a license to Pa'ina Hawaii, a Honolulu-based company, to build and operate a commercial pool-type irradiator near the Honolulu airport that would mainly be used to irradiate local fruits and vegetables for shipment to the mainland (AW, Sept. 2007, p. 18). This action by the NRC staff, however, did not end the process.
