NRC Security inspections identified 133 findings at nuclear power plants and certain nuclear fuel cycle facilities in 2008, the agency reported on July 10. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said that it has made available to the public an unclassified version of its annual report to Congress outlining the previous year's security inspection program. According to the report, the NRC conducted 182 security inspections and identified 125 findings of very low security significance and eight findings of low to moderate security significance. "All were corrected immediately or compensatory measures put in place, if necessary," the NRC said. Details of the findings are considered to be sensitive and were not released to the public.
