I read with great interest the description of the new Babcock & Wilcox reactor design, the mPower reactor, in the July 2009 issue of Nuclear News (p. 17). While many of the features are novel and commendable, I believe the power level to be too low. With the exception of a few reactors in Russia, India, and Pakistan, every power reactor in the world operates at a power level higher than 125 MWe.
