Most folks in my neighborhood, but not all, are prepared for all-digital television. Most who didn't already have cable have bought converter boxes and are now ready to get their programs as bundles of ones and zeros instead of continuous electronic streams. The change was supposed to happen on February 17. But because some 6 million Americans either hadn't gotten the word or didn't understand it, Congress let them off the hook until June 12. At least, that was the word at this writing on February 6.
