Lawmakers, Aslb agree that license application review should proceed

Ninety-one members of the U.S. Congress-two Democratic senators, 22 Republican senators, 12 Democratic representatives, and 55 Republican representatives-signed a July 6 letter to Energy Secretary Stephen Chu asking him to "immediately halt all actions to dismantle operations" at the Yucca Mountain high-level nuclear waste repository in Nevada, at least until legal action regarding the Department of Energy's withdrawal of the application is resolved by the D.C. Circuit Court and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
