Banerjee retires from AEC and DAE

Srikumar Banerjee has stepped down as chairman of India's Atomic Energy Commission and as secretary of the country's Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). Banerjee retired on April 30, after 45 years with the DAE. He is being replaced by Ratan Kumar Sinha, director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), who took over from Banerjee in a ceremony held at DAE headquarters in Mumbai.
