INs on chemical spills, groundwater, vendor data

In late April, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued three information notices (IN) to licensees. IN 2012-04, Impacts on Normal Plant Operations due to Leaks or Spills of Chemicals (ML12038A006). The IN summarizes events that occurred at Dresden, Prairie Island, Quad Cities, and Susquehanna from 2010 to 2012. The events involved equipment failures in nonnuclear systems, but the systems could release toxic chemicals that could impair plant personnel's ability to access equipment needed in both normal and emergency conditions.
