Olkiluoto-3 commercial start delayed until 2014

The start of commercial power operation at Finland's Olkiluoto-3 is now expected in August 2014, according to the utility Teol-lisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO). Under the terms of the original fixed-price turnkey contract, commercial power production was to begin in mid-2009. In a one-line statement issued to the Finnish stock exchange on December 21, TVO said that the Areva-Siemens consortium supplying the plant had informed the company that "the unit is scheduled to be ready for regular electricity production in August 2014."
