ANS answers inquiry on two standards

The ANS Standards Committee received an inquiry related to two standards. The inquiry and response are provided below. 1. ANSI/ANS-8.19-2005, Administrative Practices for Nuclear Criticality Safety, Section 8.4, and ANSI/ANS-8.26-2007 (R2012), Criticality Safety Engineer Training and Qualification Program, Section 7.10. Inquiry: Position 1: When preparing a nuclear criticality safety evaluation (NCSE), both the author and the reviewer (reviewer as defined in ANSI/ANS-8.19-2005, Section 8.4) shall have a facility qualification (i.e., have documented facility/process-specific knowledge per ANSI/ANS-8.26-2007 [R2012], Section 7.10).
