The nrc has proposed a $ 17,500 fine to dominion for a security-related violation at Kewaunee, the utility's single-unit nuclear plant near Carlton, Wis., which is currently undergoing decommissioning. (Dominion permanently shut down the plant in May 2013.) After conducting security inspections between June and December of last year, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission determined that a violation involving security information had occurred. Once the issue was identified (the NRC does not typically make details of security violations available to the public), Dominion implemented corrective actions before NRC inspectors left the site, according to an April I agency press release.
