Hinkley Point C contracts signed

The British government, Electricite de France, and EDF's Chinese partner, China General Nuclear Corporation (CGN), have signed the final documents to enable the go-ahead for the Hinkley Point C project, the United Kingdom's first nuclear power station to be built in a generation. Signing the historic agreements, which took place at a September 29 ceremony in London, were Greg Clark, the U.K. secretary of state for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS); Jean-Bernard Levy, chairman and chief executive officer of EDF; and He Yu, chairman of CGN. Also attending the ceremony were French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and the head of the Chinese National Energy Administration, Nur Bekri.
