KEPCO to Finalize UK Moorside Nuclear Project by Q3

State-operated Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) plans to finalize its acquisition of a stake in the UK's Moorside Nuclear Project by September, after analyzing its potential profits and viability, a senior government official said on May 2. In December, KEPCO was selected as a preferred bidder for Toshiba's NuGen unit, which is planning the Moorside project in Cumbria, northwest England. Toshiba currently holds a 100 percent stake in the NuGen consortium, which oversees the UK project, after Engie of France left the project in early 2017.
