The beginning of April saw the official integration of the former UKAEA Windscale nuclear site with the adjacent Sellafield site, in northern England.rnThe move follows a year of preparatory work to ensure the necessary licence arrangements were in place to allow the transfer to happen smoothly.rnIn October 2007, Windscale rnentered a period of 'shadow working' in preparation for the transfer day to demonstrate to regulators that organisational arrangements were in place to support the new licence application.
