A leak from a cable pit near unit 3 was detected on 11 May. TEPCO found that water highly contaminated with iodine-131, caesium-134 and caesium-137 well beyond regulatory limits was leaking into the sea. The leak was plugged the same day by pouring concrete into the pit.
