Since NTT was privatized in 1985, various business operations that we previously conducted have been spun off and established as subsidiaries. One method that has been employed here has been to separate a particular service unit from NTT by transferring the business right to a newly formed company which takes on the responsibility for providing the service. That was done in the case of data communications and mobile communications.
