Recent Developments in European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI): Celebrating 10th Anniversary

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) celebrated its tenth an- niversary in 1998. As of November 1998, it counted 650 member organizations form 49 countries (including 35 European countries), and it is actively engaged in the cre- ation of global standards for the 21st century. This article describes the status of ETSI activities from 1997 as well as new developments (Refer to "Global Standardization Activ- ities" in the January 1998 issue).
