摘要

This paper describes techniques for expanding a signal-wavelength pass-bandwidth and constructing an optical ring-network suited for future large-capacity WDM submarine optical network systems. The pass-bandwidth expansion technique consists of higher-order dispersion management and accurate gain equalization schemes. A ring-network with optical add-drop multiplexing expected to be applied to prac- tical large-capacity network systems in illustrated. Guidelines for designing the ring-network are also given.
