Optimizing the Directivity Factor of a Finite Corner Antenna with a Circularly Polarized Radiation Field

摘要

The uniform geometrical theory of diffraction is used to analyze radiation of a finite corner antenna excited by an arbitrarily oriented electric dipole. The amplitudes and phase difference of the orthogonal components of the radiation field are calculated for an arbitrary direction of observation. An algorithm is devel- oped that allows one to determine the conditions for obtaining a circularly polarized radiation in the main max- imum. The corner antenna directivity factor depending on the dimensions of the antenna's sides and the distance from the dipole feed to the internal edge is investigated for different flare angles of the corner reflector.
