Speech codec for multimedia services and speech coding software' DualSpeech

摘要

Multimedia signal processing by software can be executed in realtime on the latest high-performance personal computers. Moreover, storage, processing, and communication of speech will be handled easily using personal computers connected to networks, such as the Internet. This paper describes NTT's speech Codec software "DualSpeech" for multimedia services and its application systems. DualSpeech has three advantages: (1)low bit-rate, (2)lowarithmetic complexity, and (3)high quality of speech.
