摘要

We analysed the mechanisms of telecommunication transmission problems caused by snow and propose as a countermeasure a water-repellent coating that has a contact angle of 164 degrees. Generally, snow particles adhere to antennas via water existing on their surface. Since even wet snow cannot stick to water-repellent coated antennas, the snow immediately falls off coated antennas, so the problem of microwave absorption by water is avoided. Consequently is method is effective for antennas in snowy regions.
