Utilization of User's Knowledge in Academic Information Retrieval

In academic information retrieval, personal knowledge and general knowledge play essential roles in improving the effectiveness. In practice, personal knowledge and general knowledge are naturally distributed, therefore it is difficult to utilize and manage knowledge. This research proposed a method that manages and utilizes the distributed knowledge by Active Information Resource (AIR). A prototype system based on the proposal had been designed and implemented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
