摘要

A method has been developed by which it is possi- ble to increase the surface charge density of cellulosic fibres. The optimal chemical conditions for the irreversible attachment of a bifuncitonal molecule such as carboxymethyl cellulose 9CMC) onto cellulosic surfaces have been deterined. The influences of electrolyte concentration, pH, temperature, pulp consistency, pulp type and properties of CMC (D.S. and M_W) on the attachment of CMC were studied. The topochemistry of attachment was inve- Stigated using the colloid titration technique for the determination Of surface charge.
