摘要

Thermal bonded airlaid (TBAL) is a nonwoven material consisting of natural and synthetic fibers attached to each other in a web suitable for myriad industrial and home uses. In order to reduce the capital costs associated with TBAL, or to reduce its cost of manufacture, hydrogen bonding has been introduced as an alternative or supplemental means of bonding the web together. The natural fibers used are composed primarily of cellulose, in one or several of its natural forms. Since cellulose is made up primarily of carbon and hydrogen, hydrogen bonding in airlaid exploits the chemical makeup to provide sheet properties beneficial to the end user and manufacturing properties beneficial to the producer.
