Steep out with nonwovens

Choreography and nonwovens. There are many steps in the process of making a nonwoven; EDANA describes the three primary steps (each with many versions, options and combinations) to be web formation, web bonding and, if needed, a subsequent finishing treatment. If you extend this thinking about 'steps' beyond just the manufacture of the nonwoven to include the raw materials at one end (with spinning them into fibres) plus the conversion of the nonwoven into finished products at the other, the list of discrete steps becomes rather large. Like a dance routine, success of the overall 'supply chain of steps' is influenced not only by the individual steps but, increasingly, by the way in which they are joined together and, on occasions, when a step is removed from the chain.
