SCA acquires European tissue business from Georgia-Pacific

Swedish hygiene company SCA has completed the acquisition of Georgia-Pacific's European tissue business. The purchase price amounts to €1.32 billion on a debt-free basis. The acquired operations had sales of €1.25 billion in 2011. Georgia-Pacific has a well-established presence in Europe in both away-from-home and consumer tissue products. Products in both segments are marketed with the well-known Lotus brand.
