While they're not always visible, nonwovens used in home and office furnishings make the spaces we live and work in more comfortable, safe, sustainable, and in some cases even more beautiful. Today nonwovens are used in a wide variety of applications such as bed linens, blankets, mattresses, blinds, carpets and carpet backing, furniture, acoustical materials, table linens, wallcoverings and more. According to INDA's recently published North American Nonwovens Industry Outlook report, in terms of tonnes, the Home & Office in furnishings category accounted for 10% of the North American nonwoven demand in 2019."While 10% may not seem large, the largest category only accounts for 14% of the demand," says INDA's director of Market Intelligence & Economic Insights Brad Kalil, who authored the report.
