Culture of the City

The culture of Seoul is a living thing: a vibrant fusion of leading-edge style and entertainment with rich traditions that go back hundreds of years. Now, the city is tapping a strategy called "culturenomics" to boost its competitiveness and improve the Seoul experience for citizens and visitors alike.In January 2008 Mayor Se-hoon Oh met with Guy Sorman of the University of Paris, Paul Cheshire of the London School of Economics and other renowned researchers and scholars from world-class institutions to investigate how the city's culture might help to drive healthy economic growth and social development.
