Down at the Station

On Tuesday 18 June the first ten DL locomotives from the second batch arrived at Tauranga and were hauled to the Te Rapa maintenance depot two days later. Commissioning of the locomotives started immediately with a thorough check of each one, filling them with oil and water and installing the communications equipment. Mainline testing started at the beginning of July with one of the new batch pairing with an older DL locomotive on the Metroport service. Once that phase has been completed they will then run solo.
