Does the news media reflect society's views and attitudes, or does it influence our attitudes? This is an old argument that has probably been debated since the first newspaper was published and will probably be debated long after the last newspaper has ceased in favour of an electronic news service yet to be invented. The media can be very negative at times, but then bad news sells and good news is not nearly as exciting.
