摘要

Continuing the series featuring images from our treasured photographic archive or member collections, in this issue we draw on Roy Sinclair's images. We have been fortunate that Roy has chosen some favourite images and set captions for each of these. We will let Roy introduce this himself... Photography was the one thing I could fully understand. I was aged 15 when on the last day of the May school holidays (1959) I joined a friend for some rail shooting. We had secretly borrowed cameras from our respective family. I had taken my brother's Agfa Clack which produced eight 6 × 9 cm photographs on 120 roll film. We cycled to Linwood locomotive depot. I recall the unusual looking G class along with the C class and larger J~A and K~B. The subsequent eight glossy prints I clutched to my chest a few days later were hardly comparable with later achievements but were at least encouraging. Photography was to become a keen interest and even offered employment opportunities - working in photographic stores, in a photographic studio, on a newspaper, and having a crack at my own photography business.
