The poor will pay for global warming

It's time for the debate on global climate change to move on. The scientific evidence and economic impact of global warming are only the beginning of the story. Now we need to ensure the measures we take to deal with climate change are equitable and just. That is a key message being pushed by hundreds of delegates and academics at the 11-day international meeting on climate change which opened this week in Nairobi, Kenya - the first time sub-Saharan Africa has hosted such a conference. Climate change, they argue, should be seen as a human rights issue.
