Can the UN talks deliver on climate change and prevent dangerous warming? Or do we need a plan B? The Cancun conference in Mexico last week got the UN process back on track after the Copenhagen car crash. But we still need to ask these questions. A year after the big climate deal was supposed to have been done, none of the big questions have been resolved - including whether to continue with the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, which committed industrialised countries to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
