BSkyB eyes Tiscali for unbundled expansion as Sky Broadband suffers teething troubles

BSkyB is understood to be looking to make more acquisitions in die UK broadband internet sector and could be a bidder for Tiscali UK, the UK's fourth-largest internet service provider. A takeover of Tiscali would bring with it control of the HomeChoice video-on-demand and IPTV service that the company bought in August, which could raise competition concerns. But BSkyB's first foray into broadband, the Sky Broadband service that launched in July off the back of the Easynet acquisition, appears to be having some difficulty in meeting demand from subscribers.
