Spanish cable operator Ono said this week that it had broken through the one-million barrier for its television subscribers and that it was growing faster than rival pay-television platforms. Television has often been the toughest of Ono's triple-play products to sell, with penetration well below that of broadband and telephony. But in the last quarter of 2007, when the overall customer base increased by 29,000, there were 51,000 net television additions, which took the total to 960,000 (and has since passed one million), compared with 43,000 for broadband and 10,000 for telephony. The increase in television subscribers exceeded that posted by rivals Imagenio (Telefonica) and Digital Plus (Sogecable).
