A research team led by Ma Yanwei at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Institute of Electrical Engineering has been successful in fabricating wires made of LaO_(0.9)F_(0.1)FeAs with a superconductingrncritical transition temperature (T_e) of about 25 K, using the conventional powder-in-tube method.rnThe wire, the first of its kind in the world, is of great importance for a number of possible applications, according to experts. The CAS has filed a patent application.
