CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals) has signed an agreement with LIANZA (Library and Information Association of New Zealand) to recognise each other's professional qualifications. This is the first international agreement of its type in the profession, and Chartered members of CILIP and Registered members of LIANZA will now benefit from enhanced mobility and employability potential. A different aspect of the library workforce is provided by Warren in her article, which examines a workforce review undertaken by the University of Tasmania (UTAS) Library and the measures taken to address the key problems it identified, particularly those relating to the recruitment and retention of new and existing liaison librarians.
