GLASGOW METRO MODERNISATION GETS £246M IN CAPITAL FUNDING

The Scottish Government will provide up to £_(246)M in capital funding for the modernisation of Glasgow's subway system, it was announced last week. The upgrade to one of the world's oldest underground metro systems will include new rolling stock, refurbishment of stations and signalling upgrades. The subway modernisation forms part of Scotland's Infrastructure Investment Plan (IIP) which details plans for up to £6obn of spending right up until 2030.
