Banners fly high as civil engineering campaign builds

Four projects showed off their "This is Civil Engineering" banners during the first week of the ICE's campaign launch. Around 15 more banner-raising events are planned this week. Civil engineering companies including Arup, Atkins, WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff, Mott MacDonald, Thames Water and ICE members have been taking part along with project teams. They have been using Twitter, sharing photos of their projects and showcasing the benefit to the public using the hashtag #thisis-civilengineering. The campaign is part of the ICE's Commit to Infrastructure General Election campaign. The Institution hopes it will emphasise to politicians the importance of sustained infrastructure investment.
