Everybody wants their portfolio of work to stand out from the crowd. The trouble is, making something that's original, noticeable and likely to stick in someone's mind isn't an easy job. So how is it done? Well, that's my task in this tutorial: with the help of some handy Photoshop techniques and devilish Flash, I'll demonstrate how to dynamically scale layers to give a website an illusion of depth, which visitors will control using their keyboard. It's a great technique, and one that you can develop further in your own sites simply by adding extra zoom-in functions to really sell the illusion of depth and 3D.
