CSS transitions and transforms are still new and may change before becoming a standard. We can still start to use them now, we just need to make sure that we use the vendor prefixed versions. I'll be using the -webkit prefix throughout this tutorial. CSS transitions are a new feature of CSS3 that give you the ability to animate elements just by changing CSS properties. Using transitions you tell the browser what properties should be animated, how long they ought to take and what easing function should be used.
