摘要

The objective of this study was to develop a practical solution for detecting the void spaces beneath the concrete face slab of a rockfill dam using the damping ratio measured at the top surface of the concrete face slab. The damping ratio acted as an indicator of energy leakage at the bottom surface of the concrete face slab and provided a basis for detecting void spaces. The damping ratio was rapidly and accurately measured using the wave-group resonance identification technique. Finally, the proposed method was validated through coring at a concrete-faced rockfill dam in Korea.
