Buring this time period, ASNE played in important role in providing a forum for the naval engineering community to exchange ideas and lessons learned with respect to implementing an Electric Warship. In the earlier years of this period, the annual ASNE Day and the associated Naval Engineers journal issue was the principal venue for conducting this interchange. The theme for ASNE Day 2007 was "Fuel Tank to Target: Building the Electric Fighting Ship."
