Publication of this book has been eagerly awaited in the world of 1∶1200/1∶1250-scale ship model collecting since the time of its announcement. This reviewer has collected these models from the introduction of the Triang diecast models and Eaglewall plastic kits before adding products from Navis/Neptun and Mercator and then starting to undertake conversions and scratch building, so the book seemed tailor-made.First impressions were very favorable; the quality of the paper and printing are very high and the standard of image reproduction looks good. The images themselves (which make up a large part of the content) almost always avoid the common issue with close-up photography of very small subjects-inadequate depth of field leading to fuzziness towards to background. So far, then, so good.
