The Anatomy of the Ship series has been running for nearly thirty-five years. It advertises itself as "the ultimate guide to the world's great ships from inside out," and is frequently a ship modeler's best friend. Although the series tailed off, there has been a recent revival. Tudor Warship Mary Rose, by Douglas McElvogue, is the first new title in the series in a decade. Except for The Ships of Christopher Columbus and the still-unpublished The Athenian Trireme it represents the oldest ship described by the series.
