Nanotechnology is a field that refers to the control and manipulation of particles that are 100 nanometers or smaller, i.e. on a molecular or atomic level. The ArrayPure Nano-scale RNA Purification Kit, from Epicentre, provides all of the reagents needed to purify RNA from one or more eukaryotic cells, including quantities typically obtained with laser capture procedures. The kit contains only aqueous solutions and requires no toxic organic solvents. A nano-scale protocol has been developed and tested with quantitative real-time PCR on 1 to 10,000 eukaryotic cells. ArrayPure is also compatible with RNA amplification techniques where microgram amounts of RNA have been produced from 20 HeLa cells.
