Building on design laws

Calls have been made to change WA building regulations so it is mandatory to appoint a coordinator on major building projects to ensure that designers, constructors and their clients meet the safety standards. Guests at a special IFAP Breakfast Presentation were told that two thirds of construction and maintenance incidents, involving major injuries and fatalities, were due to inherent risks in the design phase.
