Millions of gallons of oil have spewed into the Gulf of Mexico fuelling an environmental, political and public-relations disaster, but the sad fact is that, for BP and other companies, this latest incident is a bit like history repeating itself.rnThe explosion at BP's operation at the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico killed 11 people and injured 17 others. It came only five years after the 2005 explosion at the company's Texas City refinery, in which 15 people died and more than 180 were injured.
