A new plan to help curb deaths and injuries in the farming sector has been released by WorkSafe in WA. The Agricultural Action Plan 2014-2016 targets farmers and farm workers. Agriculture sector fatalities represent 17 per cent of all fatal accidents within all industries in Australia, according to WorkSafe statistics from 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2011. The use of vehicles-including light vehicles, quad bikes, tractors and aircraft-factors highly in farming fatalities.
