The latest report released by Safe Work Australia reveals that 82% of injured workers in Australia during 2016-17 were able to return to work. The Comparative Performance Monitoring Report (CPM) 20th Edition Part 3 - Premiums, entitlements and scheme performance compares the premium rates, entitlements and scheme performance of jurisdictions across Australia and New Zealand. Key findings for 2016-17 include: • Premium rates for all 17 industries have decreased since 2012-13. • Australian workers compensation schemes made $8,248 billion in total payments. • 82% of injured workers in Australia returned to work, while 80% of injured workers in New Zealand returned to work. • The disputation rate has decreased by 19% in Australia since 2012-13. • 63% of disputes were resolved within three months.
