The story focused on signs of progressnagainst meth abuse, but the last paragraph mentionednreports of a heroin network among highnschool students in Northfield, a community of aboutn19,500 people forty-five miles south of the TwinnCities.nThis was news to Griff Wigley, the founder of ancommunity blog called Locally Grown Northfield.nSo Wigley called the local police chief, who confirmednthat he was investigating the issue. Wigleynthen wrote the first of what would be more than andozen posts on the topic.
